Talivaldis Kenins 100
Talivaldis Kenins, one of the founders of the Toronto Latvian Concert Association, would have celebrated his 100th birthday in 2019. This, coincidentally, also marked the year of the XV Latvian Song Festival in Canada, which took place from July 4-7, 2019, in Toronto. Happening every five years in Canada since 1953, Kenins was for decades, a major force in the organization and success of these festivals.
The 2019 festival included a number of works by the composer including these, linked below, sung by the State Choir Latvija conducted by Maris Sirmais.
